OFFICIAL STATEMENT
The GT Cup Series promoter announces that our series will not participate on the upcoming event at automotodrom Grobnik scheduled for this weekend following an extensive evaluation of the weather conditions forecasted for the entire race weekend.
Entry numbers alone do not necessarily determine whether a race takes place or not. As with any outdoor sporting event, weather conditions can significantly affect many aspects of the weekend — not only for participants, but also for spectators, teams, operations, and the overall event experience.
Not the news anyone wanted to hear, but safety always comes first.
Decisions like this are always based on multiple factors and are never easy to make, but in this case we chose the route we considered the most responsible for everyone involved.
We now focus our attention on the next event and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the circuit soon.
All other scheduled events and activities will continue as planned at Automotodrom Grobnik. This cancellation applies only to the GT Cup Series race.
