The 2025 GT Cup Series drew to a close at the modern Balaton Park circuit in Hungary. The finale featured a colorful mix of GT3, GT4, GTC and GTX cars, promising a nice end to the season.

Taking attention was PTT Racing, which brought its black Mercedes AMG GT3 to both the sprint and endurance races. In the short 25-minute sprints, Przemysław Bieńkowski was unbeatable, taking victory on both occasions. For the endurance race he was joined by Mateusz Lisowski, who had set a new GT lap record in qualifying with a time of 1:33.59. Together, the Polish duo completely dominated the long-distance contest.

GT4 had a nice representation at Balaton, with fans treated to the sight of Petr Koukola and Václav Janík in an Aston Martin Vantage, the commanding pace of Matyáš Faiereisl in a BMW M4 GT4 and a Mercedes AMG GT4 driven by Iztok Armič and Niko Pulić.

The great battle of the weekend came in GT4, between the green Aston Martin and the white-and-grey BMW. Whether in the sprints or in endurance, the fight was relentless. In the end, it was Faiereisl who enjoyed a perfect Hungarian weekend, scoring a clean sweep with two sprint wins and a hard-fought victory in endurance.

The GTC category added battle of Porsche 911 cars between DCR’s Robert Lucák and Daniel Skalický, and Austria’s Motorsportzentrum Ried with Bob Bau. The Czech duo triumphed in the endurance race, while Bau underlined his strengths with victories in both 25-minute races. In GTX, local favorite Benedek Major delighted the home fans in a Lotus Exige, winning both the sprint and endurance races to cap his season in style.

The Balaton Park weekend was a fitting finale to the GT Cup Series 2025, a season that from start to finish delivered a diverse showcase of race cars and thrilling action across both short sprints and long endurance battles.
