The opening Sprint Race of the GT Cup Series at Lausitzring was won by Dennis Waszek in a Lamborghini Super Trofeo. The Czech driver secured his first GTX victory of the season—and this triumph was even sweeter as he also crossed the finish line first overall.

Unlike the endurance race, the Sprint race saw an early incident in turn one, between Thomas Westarp and Marius Aigner. A full-course yellow was called for several minutes. Unfortunately, Roman Roubíček in the Praga R1T was also forced to retire after the spin.

When the green flag waved again, Waszek took the lead and never looked back. He was closely followed by Antal Zsigo in the BMW M4 GT3. Although Zsigo managed to close the gap slightly, Waszek maintained control and kept a margin of at least three car lengths.

Zsigo claimed victory in the GT3 class. In the GTX category, second place behind Waszek went to Antonín Herbeck, making his debut with his new Ferrari 488. Third place in GTX was secured by Max Grip in the KTM X-BOW.

Bob Bau took the win in the GTC1 class with his Porsche 911, while the GT4 class was won by Miroslav Mikeš in a Mercedes-AMG GT4, ahead of his Buggyra ZM Racing teammate Filip Nedoma.
