The second Sprint Race of the GT Cup Series at Lausitzring took place on Saturday afternoon under high air and track temperatures. Once again, Dennis Waszek started as the highest-placed GT Cup Series driver on the grid and brought his Lamborghini home for a second victory of the weekend.
Waszek took the overall lead at the start, chased by Thomas Westarp in an Audi GT3 from the P9 Challenge Series. In the closing stages, Westarp eventually overtook Waszek, but the Czech driver remained the best among the GT Cup Series entrants, winning the GTX class. He was followed by Marius Aigner in the KTM X-BOW GT2, with Antonín Herbeck finishing third in his Ferrari 488 and claiming another podium. Max Grip took fourth place in the GTX category with his KTM X-BOW GT2.
Bob Bau claimed victory in the GTC1 class, despite an early spin in the first turn amidst a mix of cars from different categories. He quickly recovered, rejoined the race, and powered his way to the win.
The GT4 class was once again dominated by Buggyra ZM Racing and their Mercedes-AMG GT4 cars. In the second Sprint, the driving duties were taken over by Adam Lacko and Aliyyah Koloc, who delivered an exciting wheel-to-wheel battle in the closing laps. Although Koloc set the fastest lap of the race, it was Lacko who crossed the finish line first and claimed victory.
