The GT Cup Series is approaching the end of its 2025 season. The final round will take place at Balaton Park on September 27–28, and there’s still a lot to fight for. The championships positions across all categories in both Sprint and Endurance are far from decided.
Let’s start with the GT3 class, the top category in the championship. Although Rudolf Beňo from Aries Racing secured the Sprint title after a win in Brno with his BMW M4 GT3, the battle for second and third place is still wide open. Antal Zsigo won’t be competing at Balaton Park due to other commitments, so Petr Fulín and Piotr Wira, currently third and fourth in the standings respectively, have a great chance to snatch second place.
In Endurance, the title has already gone to Gregor Zsigo and Dennis Waszek from Racing Trevor and the duo of Beňo-Gonda has secured second place in the championship. However, the battle for third remains undecided, with both Piotr Wira and Petr Fulín in contention for a final push.
In the GT4 class, drivers from Buggyra ZM Racing occupy the top four positions, but Petr Koukola still has a mathematical chance to take the championship or moved up in the order. Adam Lacko leads the standings with 62.5 points, followed closely by Martin Hudec with 61, Miroslav Mikeš with 55.5 and Filip Nedoma with 52. The fight for the title within the Czech team is wide open, and Koukola from Janík Motorsport could still claim it if he wins in his Aston Martin and Buggyra’s Mercedes entries run into trouble.
In Endurance, the winning duo of Miha Primožič and Matthias Lodi from Lema Racing sealed the championship in Brno. However, second and third places remain undecided. Václav Janík from Janík Motorsport currently holds second with 72.5 points, followed by Miroslav Mikeš, who trails by 13.5 points. Adam Lacko is just another 1.5 points behind, while Niko Pulič and Iztok Armič sit 9.5 points back. The standings show that many drivers still have a shot at moving into second or third place in the final classification.
Bob Bau clinched the Sprint title in the GTC class, but the fight for second and third is still on. Josef Záruba currently holds second place with just a 10-point lead over Robert Lucák Jr. from the DCR team. Lucák also has a chance to win the Endurance championship alongside his teammate Dan Skalický. They are only 8.5 points behind Jakub Knoll and Josef Záruba from Mičánek Motorsport, so the title will be decided right at Balaton Park.
In the GTX Sprint class, Dennis Waszek won five races and secured the title in Brno. He won’t take part in the final round as he’s preparing for the 24-hour race in Barcelona. Meanwhile, the battle among teammates Max Grip, Jack Russel and Marius Aigner from MZR Motorsportzentrum Ried is heating up. Their position in Endurance is even stronger, as Reinhard Kofler leads the standings, with Adam Konopka from ARC Bratislava 11 points behind. Max Grip trails by just five more points and even fourth-placed Marius Aigner still has a mathematical shot at finishing second.
As you can see, there’s still a lot to fight for. The championship is far from over. While some classes already have their 2025 winners, many questions remain about who will claim the runner-up positions.
