Saturday afternoon featured two qualifying sessions of the GT Cup for Sunday’s sprint races. Antonín Herbeck, driving a Pagani Zonda, was fastest in the first session, while Rudolf Beňo, in a BMW M4 GT3, topped the timesheets in the second.
A field of 25 cars from the GT Cup and P9 Challenge series competed for the best qualifying times in the two sessions, separated only by a five-minute break. The fastest among the GT Cup field was Antonín Herbeck from the Rock Robots team, who also led the GTX class. He was followed by three KTM X-BOW GT2 cars from the MRZ team and a Lamborghini Huracán driven by Christian Wimberger – all from the same GTX class.
Just behind them in the results was Rudolf Beňo with BWM M3 GT3 from Aries Racing. The Slovakian driver set the fastest lap in the GT3 class and, in the second session, he improved by another second, which put him at the top of the overall standings. Herbeck remained the fastest in the GTX class.
In the GTC class, Michael Oliver was fastest in both sessions with his Porsche 992 GT3. In the GTC1 class, Bob Bau claimed both sessions with his Porsche 991.
The GT4 class was a success for the Buggyra ZM Racing team’s Mercedes-AMG GT4, car number 55. Adam Lacko set the fastest time in the first session, and after the driver swap with Miroslav Mikeš, the young Czech continued the pace and was again the fastest GT4 driver in the second session.
The sprint races are scheduled for Sunday at 9:20 and 13:20.
