The GT Cup Series continues this weekend with its penultimate round at the Automotodrom Brno, and there is still plenty to fight for. A packed grid featuring multiple classes promises another weekend of thrilling racing.

Sports car racing at the Masaryk Racing Days in early September is a long-standing tradition, and this year is no exception. The event takes place on the recently resurfaced track, which not only provides better conditions for the drivers but also improved grip, meaning faster lap times.

Several GT Cup drivers have already tested at Brno, including Rudolf Beňo from Aries Racing, who currently leads the GT3 championship. Beňo will once again race his BMW M4 GT3 and he will be joined on the grid by BMW factory driver Jesse Krohn, competing with Racing Trevor. Petr Fulín will bring his Audi, while Piotr Wira will race a Mercedes-AMG GT3.

The GT4 class will feature its largest field of the season with as many as eight cars. Petr Koukola will drive an Aston Martin, while Buggyra ZM Racing will once again enter two Mercedes-AMG GT4s: one for championship leaders Martin Hudec/Filip Nedoma and another for Adam Lacko/Miroslav Mikeš. Lema Racing will field two Mercedes and one Audi and local squad Šenkýř Motorsport will run two BMW M4 GT4s for Matyáš Faireisl and Drahoslav Kárník.

Another local team, Mičánek Motorsport based at Automotodrom Brno, will compete not only in the Endurance race in the GTC class with Jakub Knoll and Josef Záruba, but also in the sprint races with two Lamborghini Super Trofeos. In the GTC1 class, Robert Lucák Jr. and Bob Bau will race their Porsche 911s.

The numerically dominant force in the GTX category will be MZR Motorsportzentrum Ried team, entering KTM X-BOW GT2 cars for Marius Aigner, Max Grip and Jack Russel. They will go up against championship leader Dennis Waszek in his Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

The grid will also include entries from the P9 Challenge, adding more Porsches, Lamborghinis and BMWs to bring the sprint race total to 28 cars.

In addition to the sprints, the large entry list has also Saturday’s one-hour Endurance race, where most of the same field will be racing with two drivers, sharing stints behind the wheel.

As the Masaryk Racing Days mark the penultimate round of the 2025 season, every point will be crucial. Many drivers will be pushing to secure the best possible results in order to get closer to the title in the final round at Balaton Park at the end of September.
