The third endurance race of the 2025 season took place on Friday afternoon at the scenic Lausitzring circuit in Germany. The one-hour race saw Antal Zsigo and Max Hesse take the victory in the GT3 class, while Václav Janík claimed the win in GT4.
On the front row, Thomas Westarp lined up with his Audi GT3 from the P9 Challenge series, alongside Antal Zsigo in a BMW M4 GT3, who held the best starting position among the GT Cup Series entrants.
The race got off to a clean start through the first corner, with Zsigo taking the early lead in the GT3 class ahead of Gregor Zsigo in an older BMW M6 GT3. However, a Full Course Yellow was called on the opening lap due to an incident involving the KTM of Aigner -Kofler crew. Racing resumed at the end of that same lap, with Antal Zsigo holding his lead ahead of Gregor Zsigo, followed by the KTM X-BOW GTX driven by Max Grip and Jack Russel.
In the GTC class, Jakub Knoll led the way in a Lamborghini Super Trofeo, ahead of Bob Bau, who was leading the GTC1 category for Porsche Cup cars.
A fierce GT4 battle emerged between teammates Adam Lacko and Aliyyah Koloc, both driving Mercedes-AMG GT4s, and Václav Janík in an Aston Martin GT4. The trio ran nose-to-tail for several laps, stuck behind a slower Porsche 911 from the P9 class, which they struggled to overtake due to its superior straight-line speed.
When the pit window opened, all teams completed their stops within the next ten minutes, with several crews also changing drivers. Shortly after, another Full Course Yellow was deployed — this time due to an incident involving KTM of MZR Motorsportzentrum Ried team, driven by Grip and Russel, which went off the track.
With eight minutes remaining, the race resumed, sparking an intense fight in the GT4 class. Mikeš, who had taken over from Koloc, began pulling away from teammate Filip Nedoma, who had replaced Lacko. Nedoma came under heavy pressure from Janík, who eventually overtook him in the closing minutes to move into second place in GT4.
After the race, many drivers received time penalty for different reasons, like false starting procedure, pit stop penalty, crossing the white line at the exit of the pitlane or false Full Course Yellow procedure. Those penalty significantly changed the results in GT4 class, where the winner became Janík in front of Koloc-Mikeš and Lacko-Nedoma.
The overall victory in GT3 went to Antal Zsigo and Max Hesse, who finished ahead of Gregor Zsigo and Dennis Waszek. Jakub Knoll and Josef Záruba won the GTC class and maintained their lead in the championship standings. Bob Bau took the win in the GTC1 class. Grip-Russel were still classified and therefore took win in GTX.
